Born in 1951 in Eschweiler in the Rhineland, Claude Wall studied painting at the Stuttgart Art Academy from 1969 to 1974. This was followed by studies with Professor Paul Uwe Dreyer. From 1980 to 1994 he lived and worked alternately in Milan and Stuttgart. In 1984 he was awarded the Förderpreis für farbige Plastik of the Kulturkreis im BDI. Numerous awards, prizes and scholarships followed, including: Second Ateliers Internationaux des Pays de Loire and artist-in-residence at the University of Missouri, St. Louis; scholarship of the state of Baden-Württemberg; Artiste-en-atelier au F.r.A.C. Bourgogne, Dijon.
The artist lives and works in Stuttgart and Berlin.
