Heehyun Jeong was born in South Korea in 1984 and studied art in Seoul from 2003 – 2007. She then moved to Germany and studied fine art at the HBK Braunschweig, most recently as a master student of Olav Christopher Jenssen. She lives and works in Berlin.
Heehyun Jeong deals in her works with nature, more precisely with details from nature. She uses and combines a wide variety of techniques, from drawing to printing to oil on canvas. This results in a wide range from small filigree works to monumental oil paintings.
In terms of content, Heehyun Jeong treads a constant line between abstraction and figuration; she is concerned with bringing her own perception into a context that is logical for her. Subtle weavings, abstractions, traces of color and blurring complement each other to create works of great compositional expressiveness that reveal a very distinctive, recognizable painterly signature.
The exhibition runs from 14.08. to 26.09.2021.
The vernissage will take place in the presence of the artist on 14 August from 16:00 to 22:00.
