The Luxembourg artist Fernand Roda studied at the Düsseldorf State Academy of Fine Arts from 1971 to 1997 and is now one of the most important contemporary artists in his country In 1975, he became a master student of Prof. Joseph Beuys His themes are nature and landscape in a broader sense He juxtaposes natural and geometric elements and limits himself to the essentials without getting lost in details His abstract surface design thus leads to a composition with which he creates an exuberance and a mysterious artificial nature The artist is not an analyst, but is rather characterized by incredible intuition, an intuitive architect of a painterly reality that hints at sensations without feigning feelings His motto is Don’t paint what you perceive, paint how you perceive it
The Bengelsträter Gallery has had the artist in its program for 28 years.
