The Rote Kunstsalon was established as a tribute to the museum’s founders, Hermann and Feodora Hoenes, who were lifelong enthusiasts of art and culture and passionate art collectors themselves. It was their wish to turn the villa into a place for people to meet and engage in cultural exchange.
Since its debut in 2016, the Rote Kunstsalon has embraced this legacy and, in a short space of time, has become an insider’s tip for art enthusiasts and collectors alike. In the picturesque setting of the museum park, within the historic rooms of the villa and in the prestigious modern art gallery, thirteen renowned galleries from Germany and abroad showcase current trends in the art market. One of the art fair’s aims is to highlight the breadth and diversity of current trends within the art market by showcasing works by both established and young, emerging artists.

The Rote Kunstsalon is a special event in every respect. With its 400 m² of exhibition space, the fair offers a compact yet diverse tour.
Here, visitors experience art ‘as if in their own living room’. It is no coincidence that both visitors and exhibitors repeatedly highlight the venue’s intimate and cosy atmosphere, which encourages close observation, in-depth discussions and personalised advice.
The unique atmosphere of the event is further enhanced by the warm hospitality in the museum café, the Crémant Bar, an exclusive kitchen party accompanied by live music in the Oberschwäbischer Hof, and the excellent on-site support. (Quoted from the organisers’ press release)
